  The CEL-320 and CEL-360 are designed as versatile instruments to fulfill the need for a personal noise dosimeter and as a hand held sound level meter. Instruments can be converted simply by exchanging the microphone assemblies from a cable to a stalk microphone unit.

  The CEL-320 dosimeter comes pre-configured with a selection of measurement protocols to cover OSHA, MSHA, DoD, ACGIH and ISO workplace noise requirements. All the settings are selected correctly by simply choosing the appropriate named setup. The meter will measure the actual noise dose, 8 hour projected dose and relevant TWA values using the correct thresholds and criterion levels. Recall, print or download overall results from multiple measurements at the end of runs. Save the overall results from up to 50 separate runs or "events" in memory for later review.

  The CEL-360 features all the benefits of the CEL-320 but in addition has sophisticated timer functions that allow delayed start and stop of runs, measurements for fixed durations or data logging of noise levels at regular intervals during the run. Up to 50 separate runs can be stored with up to 99,999 profile intervals in each run. Each interval can have up to 10 different noise values stored.

  Both instruments are provided with a Windows software package and connection cable matching their individual capabilities. Profile results from the CEL-360 can be viewed graphically and values recalculated using dual cursors to highlight specific areas of interest. A distribution table of noise levels at 0.5 dB intervals is saved that allows any statistical parameter to be determined after download to the included software.

 Both instruments can be customized using the dB10/12 software packages to include or exclude any parameter to simplify the measurements when only a few noise units are needed making the instruments suitable for such uses as community noise ordinance verification by non-acousticians.

In addition to the conventional noise dosimeters Casella USA are able to offer a new solution to the requirement of reporting noise exposures in the workplace. The new CEL-310 Noise Dose Badge is a totally new concept in the way that noise readings can be assessed. A miniature unit stores the necessary parameters to calculate the actual noise dose % value and to be able to predict the 8 hour noise dose and TWA values. A separate hand held Reader unit, called the CEL-315, complements the noise dose badge and stores downloaded results and displays the answers on a clear LCD graphical display.

The reader unit also serves as the matching calibrator for the noise dose badge producing a constant level of 114 dB at 1 kHz for pre and post calibrations. Up to 256 different badges can be controlled from a single reader and each reader can store up to 500 sets of results from the field. Stored runs are downloaded to the computer when convenient and a versatile database program running under the popular Windows environment giving the user the ability to produce reports based on virtually any set of criteria by worker or by area.

An optional 1 minute time history profile can be stored in the dose badge along with the overall dose results to see the way the noise levels changed during the run. This enables the dangerous periods to be investigated more thoroughly if needed using sound level meters or other more sophisticated instruments.
